MISS D HENDERSON C/O CAIRNMORE HOSPITAL 168 LEET ST INVERCARGILL NEW ZEALAND 18 DEC 1943

DEAR DOROTHY I received four letters from you last night, which I will answer briefly on this form and will write you a letter in a few day’s time. I had three from Mum and three from Maisie also and this is the first mail I have had since the beginning of October. I see that you are still busy at the nursing and also going to a few pictures and dances. I have not heard from Jock since I arrived over here in Italy but had a letter from one of his hut mates a few days ago, and he said Jock was due out of the hospital in the near future. I was talking to Doug Batt (Edna Marshall’s boyfriend) this morning and he said he had a letter from Edna telling him about her 21st party. Yes Dot I received that tobacco parcel quite a long time ago and wrote to you thanking you for it, so think my letter must have gone astray. We haven’t had a parcel mail for just over four weeks now so one of these days there will be a lot arrive all at once. Well old dear I must close now so will say cheerio until I write the letter in a few days time Lots of love and kisses. Your loving brother. ERIC xxx
