DEAR DOROTHY, Two days ago I received your airgraph of 1st January and also your parcel sent on 27th September, many thanks for both old dear, it is jolly decent of you. I can tell you I am having a royal time with parcels and cakes, yesterday I got two cakes and a parcel from home and also a cake from the Cochrane’s, Filleul Street. There is absolutely no need to be at all anxious about me being in hospital, I will be out any day now, and during all the time I have been here, have not been kept in bed. The wrist is just a wee bit stiff yet and I am getting it massaged . I have put on quite a bit of weight since I came down from the unit. How are things going in the nursing line, I have got to know quite a few of the nurses here, and give them a hand with the meals and odd jobs. Well Dot old dear there isn’t much news just now so will bring this to a close and write again later. Thanks again for the parcel and airgraph. Lots of love to you all at home. Your loving brother. ERIC xxxx
