Dear Dorothy, I received your letter of 5th June today at lunch time and was very pleased to hear from you again, so now for a few lines I reply before going to bed. Are you still on that good shift and able to get home in the afternoons. I think Jock must be on his way at last, as I haven’t heard from him lately. If you see Grannie Ward any time give her my kindest regards, I suppose she is out of hospital by now. Next time you see George Troon tell him I was asking for him and ask him to have a couple for me at the Brown Owl the old city will be a busy place now. I haven’t had a swim for quite a while now, as we have been and still are very busy so I will probably have forgotten how myself. At present I am doing rather well with tomatoes which we buy from the growers at twenty lire for two kilos which is 1/- for five pounds, not bad is it? We are getting interested in the grapes now, which will soon be ready and believe me the countryside is covered with them. Well old dear I must say cheerio now & will write a letter in a day or so. Lots of love xxxxx. Your loving brother Eric.
