Dear Dorothy, Two days ago I wrote you an airgraph and promised to write you a longer letter, so here it is old dear. As a matter of fact I have been A bit slack writing to you this month, but as you will see I have a new address and have been messed about a fair bit. I have been expecting some mail from you for a day or so, but it should be in any day now. I have had a couple from Mum and a couple from Maisie, so I should have yours any day now. How is life in the hospital, O.K. I hope. We have been very busy getting our piano accordion band and tonight we are putting on our first concert in the Lowry Hut in the camp, so as soon as I finish this I will be getting all pansied up for the show. Later on I will be sending you a snap of the band. Have you seen any sign of Ray Dell or Cecil Dixon since they arrived home. I suppose Jock has told you all about life over in this part of the world. Before we came over to Italy, Jock, Barney and I had some good times, he will have no doubt told you all about them. Mum said in her letter that Mrs Lennie had died yesterday I wrote an airgraph to Mr Lennie. I had a cake and a tin of biscuits from you all at home, many thanks, they are just the thing for morning and afternoon tea. I also had a parcel of chocolate from Mr & Mrs Shand and a parcel from the Commercial Traveller’s Club. What a time you will all have at home at Christmas having Kath, Alex and family staying with you. Tell

Alex to have a few pints for me at one of our new pubs. I had a couple of days leave in Bari last Saturday and Sunday, Which was quite a break from camp life. I noticed quite a difference in the place since I was there, when in hospital in January. We used to get a glass of very good wine for 6d now they want 1/6 for one, there are too many Yanks there and wherever they are the prices go up. Next time I go in, I am going to the hospital to see some of the nurses and sisters I got to know while I was in the hospital. Well old dear I am afraid there is not much more news for you. See and have a good time over Christmas and New Year. I wish I could be with you, however I hope I will be with you for Easter, and then what-oh for some fun. Will say cheerio now and lots of love and kisses xxxx Your loving brother Eric
