Biographical / Historical
Frederick Percy Bailey (Born in Penzance Cornwall, UK in 1859 and died in Invercargill in 1942) and Elizabeth Cunnack Bailey (Born in Penzance, Cornwall in 1858 and died in Bluff in 1928).
They had eleven children, nine of which grew to adulthood and had large families of their own.
They left Gravesend on 5th June 1880 and after 87 days at sea on the “City of Sparta” arrived in Dunedin. Finding no work there they left to Riverton and then moved to Bluff.
