8 – 1 - 1945

Dear Dorothy, I received a letter from you last night dated 29th Oct, and was very pleased to hear from you. This is the first letter I have had for about two week, so it looks as if our mail is turning up at last, these if a hold up somewhere, we are still waiting on our Xmas mail. I had an odd airgraph and air mail letter card, just before Xmas. A couple of days ago I wrote an ordinary letter but you will receive this long before it. How is the nursing job still hard at it. George Troon and Mark Blackie are both in this camp, the three of us went to the pictures, the night before last, and have also been to Cairo together and had a glass or two of the old pig’s ear. I see that you have received the post cards of Rome, by now you should have the rest, 3 sent. I will try and get you some films for your camera, 620 is the size isn’t it, let me know as soon as possible. Well old dear will have to sign off now, will write again in a few days time. Cheerio and love. Your loving brother. Eric. xxxx
