Overview

This interview was recorded as part of a project to celebrate of 125 years of Women's Suffrage in New Zealand. In this interview Carla describes her early life born in Cromwell and Queenstown in a family environment that fostered confidence, resilience, and empathy. She pursued a career in writing and marketing, later relocating to Invercargill where she published a regional visitor’s guide and became a strong advocate for Southland. As founder and Creative Director of Market South, she leads a team providing marketing, communications, and digital services to regional industries. Carla describes her roll models and approach to parenting and thoughts on gender equality.
