In this interview Alice covers subjects such as her family arriving from the UK in 1864 and how they established their lives in Southland. She describes life on the farm in the early part of the 20th century. She goes on to recall her memories of attending Gummies Bush School and special activities she attended in holiday time e.g., 1924 Exhibition in Dunedin, Riverton Regatta each year and the Riverton Carnival. She discusses activities in her teenage years which included: sports, debating, country dances and Church. She finishes off by talking about her training as a nurse at Riverton Hospital and her marriage. Other memories include: her family involvement in WW2, as well as her own involvement with the Women’s Division for 64 years and other volunteer work she under took.
