Run by Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga to collect photographs depicting local heritage, photographers must have used one of the heritage buildings or places listed on the New Zealand Heritage List/Rārangi Kōrero as their subject. All entries were then eligible for inclusion on the listing.
