Dan Davin Literary Foundation
           
             Formed in 2000, the Dan Davin Literary Foundation supports and promotes creative writing in Southland.  This is done through the organising of writers' workshops and competitions. 
Adults compete for the Dan Davin Award which alternates each year between poetry and short stories. Students compete annually for the Junior and U19/Senior student Short Story Literary Awards.
