This is atribute to and description of David Cossgrove's career path - -Flax Mill at Waihola where he developed the first flax wet scutcher in the country -School Teacher -Head Master -1888, he and his wife initiated and established 'Gladstone Memorial Ward 9 (for Woment)' at Westport Hospital -First Noble Grand of the Hope of Maheno Loadge 1889 -Inventor of the 'Cossgrove Double Action washing machine -Distinguished Military career from 1866. P.109. -Freemason, p.110. -Head of Scout Movement in NZ in 1908. His title "Dominion Chief Scout'. p.111.

Cossgrove died in 1920, aged 68 years. See P.113 for his 4 Decorations/Medals.
