Minutes commence with those for "a Public Meeting of Settlers and Others Interested", held in the Public Hall at Woodlands on 23 March 1898, to float a Company to open saleyards at Woodlands. It was proposed that there would be 7 Directors, all shareholders to be eligible for election. 10 were nominated for a seat on the Provisional Directorate. The Seven Directors and their vote totals are listed.
The second recorded meeting details the setting up of the company. As well, the provisonal directors instructed A P Schmidt to write the specifications for the erection of the yards and also to see Mr Robt McGregor about his land.
Directors meetings were held monthly at the Railway Hotel, Invercargill. Topics such as Bylaws, fixing of Yard Dues, fencing hurdles and appointment of Yardsman were discussed 3/5/1898.
First General Meeting of Shareholders was held at Woodlands Public Hall 2 September 1898, when provisional directors were re-elected. Meetings were the held "in the office". Venues are not always given but one, held 21 April 1901, was held at Mr Gohl's Hotel. Meetings from 1919 contain more business details.
