This item is a black covered minute book and is part of the A S and M Trotter Donation. Records begin with the 5 April 1932 AGM, with Mr Middlemiss presideing over 13 members. Subs were set as 2/6 for Gentlemen and 1/- for Ladies. It was also noted that the club was to co-operate with the WEA and weekly meetings began19 April.
12 July 1932 - Col. Hargest, Local MP, gave a Lecture on Parliamentary Procedure.

Page 17 - 1933 Syllabus outlined.
19 May 1936. Death of Mr C J Bungard noted. As a club member for more than 45 years he was the longest-serving member. A Tribute is recorded and donors towards the cost of his wreath are listed.
25 August 1936 - Society's request of 2YA, to broadcast a notice of their Jubilee details, declined on the grounds that they were neither a church nor a school.
Pages 75 - 79: Jubilee Banquet and Ball, held 1/9/1936, are written up in detail.
Page 84: Syllabus 1886 - 1937, below which is that for 1937.
Meeting for 29 August 1939 are signed 14/5/1940. The AGM on 30/4/1940 mentioned that the 'society's final evening of 1939 as overshadowed by War Clouds". Sus remain the same (Gents 2/6, Ladies 1/-) but gentlemen were to 6d extra on supper nights.
1941 AGM notes 'members absent with the forces, at home or abroad".
Page 157: Last entry for this series is for 3/6/1941 and is unsigned. Discussion centered on closing society activities for the duration of the war. Memories are shared and it is recorded that members expressed confidence that 'we would win the War for the fight for freedom'.
