Dear Dot, I was awfully delighted to receive your very welcome letter the other day. You mustn’t swear at our dear Orbie in such a manner even if he did cut your throat, by all appearances you had a bad time off it but you will no doubt be fully recovered by now. I have a lovely birthday present, a boil on the back of my head, wouldn’t that rotate one? 27 today, old age creeping on and taking its toll. I will go to the pictures tonight ‘The Shores off (sic) Tripoli’ is on I think so it should be a good show. Glad to hear that Tiny is still on the right side of the earth’s crust
Transcribers notes: Orbie = Dr. Orbell, surgeon, Tiny = Eric Henderson
