Dear Dorothy, I received an airmail card from you dated 15th March, and was very pleased to hear from you. I had one from Mum just an hour ago so am spending the afternoon answering both. How is life treating you old dear, O.K. I hope. So far I have not had my photo taken but intend to do so, one of these days soon. If you happen to see Ray Dell again, give him my regards and tell him I hope to be having a pint with him, before long. How are your love affairs doing, apparently at home they are not so keen on the boy friend, don’t you think you would be better with someone your

own age, and single. I must send you one of those badges, either that or bring it with me. How did the holiday in Queenstown go, I’ll bet you would have a good time, I hope the weather was O.K. for it. How is Hugh doing after having his tonsils out, tell him I was asking for him. Next time you see Dick Kerr, give him my regards and also tell him to be ready for a few beers and fresh oysters. Next time I am in town I will try and pick up one or two 620 films for you, just at present films are a bit hard to get, as the shops are waiting on another shipment to arrive about the middle of the month. On Saturday afternoon a truck load of us went to the Donkey Races, which were held in a nearby camp and had quite an enjoyable afternoon. There were four

donkey races and two camel races. I had four bets at 1/- a time, and had one win and three seconds. The tote was only a 1/- one, and only paid out on wins so I just finished up square. In one of the races five service girls rode the donkeys and caused quite a bit of fun. Four of our nurses came with us, by the way we have some jolly nice nurses here. Mum said in her letter that Jim Graham and Ed were going to manage one of the hotels, that will be handy for Alf and I when we arrive home. I have been hoping to have heard or seen Barney by now as he is due to go home, it will be great if we both come in the same boat. Will have to say cheerio now old dear. Lots of love and kisses. Your loving brother. Eric
