Dear Dorothy, I received those letters from you two days ago and was pleased to hear from you again. I have just finished writing home to Mum in answer to two I got from her the same day as I got yours. So you have settled down to the nursing now and are a first class jerry-juggler. This damned pen is not working too well, but I should not blame the pen, as the ink we are getting here just now is as week as a new born calf. You will probably see what news there is in the letter I wrote to Mum. At present I am writing this, sitting behind the wheel of my bus and expecting to move on shortly. We are busy chasing the Jerrys and Italians out of here just now and do not get much time for letter writing, so excuse

a short note this time. We have had rain ever since yesterday morning but the weather is showing signs of clearing up this afternoon. I haven’t managed to get the Autograph book filled up yet, but as soon as it is full I will send it home to you. I have a small camera of my own now but as we are miles further up in the desert now, I cannot get films. When we get back to civilisation I will send you home some films for your camera and will do a bit of photography myself. I found this camera amongst some gear lying on the desert so will make good use of it. Give Dr. Crawford my regards next time you see him and tell him I am still going strong. I see by your letter you have had Eric Russell as a patient, I sold him a new radio about a year before I went into camp. Tell Sister Aburn that I don’t think I am too talkative and

plastery, as you call it in your letter and I would certainly like to see her when I come back home. When you get your photo taken in your uniform, get one of Sister Aburn also will you Dot and send it over. I think it would be just the thing to have a photo of you both to carry in my Ambulance, yes no. we might all be able to go into business together when I get back. I haven’t seen Jack since about three weeks ago, but he was a box of birds then and asked me to send you all his love. I showed him the latest photo of Lenore taken in her blue coat and he was very thrilled with it. Well Dot I am afraid I must close now as news has run out and we will be moving soon. Please excuse the scribble but I am writing under difficulty. Will say cheerio just now lots of love & kisses, Your loving brother Eric

PS. Give my regards to Sister Aburn if your think it is in order.
