Dear Old Dot How am I getting on? What a question to ask a chap over here wallowing in the sand & flies etc. Well, I’m doing quite nicely thanks, old dear, and just longing for the day that I am able to let you know personally that I’m quite fit. You haven’t had a letter from me for ages? I’ll bet you miss my complimentary remarks about your own delicate we (sic) body? Well, I’m just lying here trying to picture you juggling half a dozen jerries in each hand. A very handy weapon, yes! A very handy weapon, if a patient should become obstropolous (sic). Take my advice, old tart, and always make sure that

you hit them with the foundation part or you know the results Well Dot, I should imagine that you will make a formidable nurse & I’m jolly pleased to know that you have taken up that line of work. They are doing a grand job over here and I guess you have plenty to do in N.Z. too. How about coming over here and acting as my private nurse. Oh boy, I guess I would be in bed quite a bit more that I am and enjoying it too. I guess you will have much more freedom now that you are not living at home. We sure used to have some rare times at West Plains. Perhaps I went home badly bruised on

some occasions, but didn’t I enjoy it. I was awfully pleased to get the snap of the Wee Lady Lenore. Isn’t she just lovely and I’ll bet she is great fun in the house. My Wee Lady is getting quite a big girl now and if I don’t hurry up and get home, she won’t know me. I haven’t seen Eric for a few weeks, but last I saw of him he was just a box of birds, all singing. He is doing a grand job in his ambulance and has been well up in the thick of it this time. I wonder how much longer this outfit will last. I guess I am just about fed up with this particular branch of it. It would just be

grand to see a nice green country again. Well dear, I guess I have no news so will have to close but keep the pen working as I enjoy your letters a lot. I guess those nails want trimming again. Cheerio Dot Lots of love Jock xxxx xxxx
