19th March 1944

Dear Dot, I received an airgraph from you the other day & I suppose it is the least I can do to write one myself. Just fancy you not hearing from me for so long. I guess I have been a bit slack in my corresponding this last month or to, but what an awful shock you are going to get when you realise that this will cost me a threepenny stamp. Just consider yourself flattered, old girl. Save your breath till I get home. That may be a long time yet, so do some serious training as I’m sure the nails will require trimming by now & I won’t require Mum’s assistance. I had a letter from Eric the other day & he is just a ball of muscle. I’m the same and can still take all that comes my way. Laugh that one off & look cheerful. Laugh & grow fat. I hope you are not getting any slimmer? It worries me quite a lot? Well Dot, I hope you have not killed of (sic) to many patients when doing the juggling act. Maybe you have drowned a few. Cheerio, Heaps of love Jock xxx
