Overview

In this interview, Mac talks of his family history, education, the family dairy farm, sports, WW2 and family member’s involvement. He goes on to talk about his marriage to Violet, social activities, religion, the purchase of a new Morris Minor in 1958, his switch from dairy farming to sheep farming and his involvement in the Wyndam pipe Band as a drummer. He tells of the formation of the Southland Rural Economic Society in 1958 which eventually joined with other societies to for CRT (Combined Rural Traders).
