Overview

Sheena looks at her family history in New Zealand after their immigration from Scotland i.e. her father’s occupation, setting up home and his employment with First Church; and her close association with first church from a baby. She went onto ring the bells and explains how to play these and the workings of First Church e.g. Communion, Sunday school and Bible Class. She attended Middle School and Southland Girls High School before going to Wellington to train as a dental nurse. On her graduation she returned to Invercargill to practice for 10 years. She then became a Social Worker with the Dept. of Social Welfare and explains how the department was in the mid-late 20th century; she later became a real estate agent for 10 years.
