In this interview Jock and Elizabeth share stories of their individual family’s histories e.g., Grandparents/Great Grandparents, parents and siblings. Before going on to recall their own individual histories of home life, education, childhood activities and employment. For Elizabeth as a Karitane Nurse and for Jock in farming. Jock joined the territorials and went to WW2 in 1940. In 1944 he took part in the D-Day Normandy Invasion. He remained in Europe after the war undertaking various tasks including the evacuation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Jock moved to New Zealand in 1947 and he had a varied career in farming in New Zealand, Britain and Australia. He met Elizabeth in 1957 and married in 1958. They recall their honeymoon, the birth of their children, the running of the farm at Diamond Peak Station, holidays including one to Britain with their young children. The next generation is now managing the farm.
