Overview Alva talks of family history, her education at Milburn School and Tokomario District High School in Milton. She recalls washing being done in the boiler, learning Highland dancing at which she won many medals going on to teach Highland dancing herself. Was too short to be accepted for nurse training in Dunedin so went to Invercargill to train. She was taken on by Dr Hunter as a trail with two others and remained. Alva recalls her experiences of this time and also the meeting of her husband...
