Overview

In this interview Mary tells of family history, life and education when living at Round Hill. She includes reflections such as: saluting the flag and singing God Save the King every Monday, school games and household chores using equipment of the day. On leaving school Mary was employed doing housework for numerous families and in particular the Hazlett family in Filleul Street. Mary also recalls various identities from around Round Hill and Colac Bay before going on to recall marriage and life during the depression and later her children and the purchase of a new home. Mary describes her Māori ancestry.
