Jim talks of his family history – William and Susan Smith were Lighthouse Keepers at Waipapa and Grandparents Samuel and Euphemia Symons farmed at Menzies Ferry. His family lived at Gorge Road where his father was the manager of the Tuturau Dairy Factory as well as a Dairy Farm Manager. He recalls life, education, and community activities at Gorge Road.
