Overview This interview was recorded as part of a project to celebrate of 125 years of Women's Suffrage in New Zealand. In this interview, Sumaria talks of growing up in Bluff where she played a lot of sports and would go out with her father on his fishing boat. When she moved from Bluff to Sydney for work she recalls the shock of the big city and contrasts the two places. He began working at Southland Museum and later became the Director. Russell details his career, the development of the Museum and his retirement sculptural projects using both Oamaru Stone and Metal.
