In this interview Rachel recalls her early life, family, schooling and choice to train as a nurse starting in 1955. She looks at training during these years through to he becoming the Chief Nurse in 1985. She also recalls describes and discusses aspects of hospital life during her employment, the history of Kew Hospital Buildings, the changes and mergers of the Southland Hospital Board with Otago; as well as some of the well-known medical personnel who worked at Kew Hospital.
